Parliament Approves Energy Regulatory Commission’s Financial Plan for 2020

The Assembly of the Republic of N. Macedonia reviewed and adopted the Financial Plan of the Energy Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Northern Macedonia for 2020 at its 123 plenary session. Following the adoption of the new electricity distribution network rules, the cost of connecting to the electricity distribution system has been reduced from EUR 500 to EUR 370. The cost of reconnecting the excluded customers has been reduced from MKD 1,740 to MKD 440. The cost of separating the measuring point has been reduced from 500 euros to 200 euros. The liberalization of the electricity market has not caused shocks in the price of electricity for households, and the costs of commercial consumers have been reduced by about 30%.
